No Spell Lasts Forever #2 Review

Written by Sarah Cooke, art by Eze Di Savino

The second issue of No Spell Lasts Forever from Sarah Cooke has come out and it is every bit as good as the first one. Eze Di Savino's art is definitely an excellent replacement, it feels less 1920s noir than Issue #1 did, but it definitely looks more fantasy/magical now. It's a pretty fair trade off that makes the art really pop out on each page. The story picks up where we last saw Rosette, trying to make a deal with the devil. The introduction of her sister Elspeth and the whole Coven of spell users was a lot to take in, but it's a pretty good motive/explanation/exposition as to why her sister is hunting Rosette down. Very much a Scarlet Witch plot line from Midnight Suns (if anyone reading this has played that amazing game). Cooke delivers again with a strong character driven story with an excellent supernatural/magical theme. So if you like good art and a strong magic based story this series will definitely scratch that itch.
